Horticulture Specialist

In this position, you will be responsible for the effective and sustainable management of our outdoor spaces. This includes community parks, reserve assets, streetscapes, and recreational spaces.
You will be required to follow all reasonable directions given by senior staff in accordance with operational requirements. This may include tasks such as weeding, mowing, propagation, and maintaining plant equipment.
You will also work within our health and safety policies and procedures, and display a positive personal contribution to providing customer-focused services.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Weeding, mowing, propagation, spraying of insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
- Maintaining plant equipment, including sprayers, hand/small ride on mowers, small tractors, and related machinery.
- Liaising with community groups and the public.
- Recording maintenance works undertaken.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a trade-recognised Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent, and/or extensive experience in horticultural activities. You will also require good knowledge of plant material, including their growing conditions and maintenance requirements.
- Experience in operating a range of park maintenance plant and equipment.
- Current Working with Children check.
