Trade Assistant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced trades assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in steel labouring and be proficient in handling and processing structural steel.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a high level of physical fitness. A current High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift) is essential, and experience with Dogman tickets and Construction White Cards will be favourably considered.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Steelshop Manager in fabricating structural steel, racking, access components, and metalwork items.
  • Read and interpret work orders and drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all quality and safety requirements.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Steel labouring experience/qualifications.
  • Experience as a trades assistant or in a similar role.
  • Current High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift).
  • Ability to work well independently and within a small team.
