**Job Title:** Sports Aquatics Educator

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students in water safety, adhering to Austswim standards.
  • Create a secure learning environment where students feel confident to acquire new skills.
  • Tutor students in survival techniques and strokes, as well as each of the four competitive strokes.
  • Provide stimulation, stretching, and relaxation for students with complex needs.
  • Maintain a relaxed and stimulating lesson while ensuring student safety is not compromised.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to cater to students with additional needs in the pool setting.
  • Proven ability to provide a safe environment within the pool area.
  • Effective communication strategies suitable for the pool environment.
  • Able to report individual student participation, progress, and performance within the pool setting.
  • Competence in OH&S issues related to swimming pools.

Mandatory qualifications include current Aust swim accreditation and First Aid Level 3.

This role involves working with students individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances under the direction of a teacher.
