Administrative Support Role in a Surgical Environment

The Casual Relieving Administrative Officer is accountable to the Administration Manager for relieving annual leave, long service leave and other types of unexpected leave of clerical, reception, ward clerk or secretarial positions.

This role is an essential part of the Surgical Directorate team, stepping in to support clerical, reception, ward clerk, and secretarial roles during periods of leave or unexpected absences. Coordination of daily workloads, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, and providing expert assistance to staff across these groups are key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating daily workloads and prioritizing tasks
  • Providing expert assistance to staff across clerical, reception, ward clerk, and secretarial roles
  • Managing more complex tasks and offering guidance to less experienced team members
