Job Title: Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Labour Solutions Australia. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Chemist with method development, conducting routine preparation, production, and analyses, and preparing and filling gas mixtures using automated and semi-automated filling booths.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chemist with method development and implementation.
  • Conduct routine preparation, production, and analyses of gas mixtures.
  • Prepare and fill gas mixtures using automated and semi-automated filling booths.
  • Conduct manual handling of gas cylinders, including trundling, using trolleys, and lifting up to 20kg.
  • Process at least 30 cylinders per day.
  • Maintain Laboratory records and systems, conduct regular scheduled back-ups of data, and ensure data is retrievable when required.
  • Maintain Laboratory equipment in good working condition.
  • Report to chemists when Lab instruments are broken down.
  • Maintain consumable stock.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks.
  • Comply with site safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure the Laboratory is always kept tidy and clean.
  • Ensure safe handling of chemicals in the laboratory.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualification with Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Preferably with knowledge of analytic chemistry.
  • Demonstrate computer skills with MS office & SAP.
  • Understanding of statistical figures and uncertainty calculation.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly motivated.
  • High focus on Safety.
  • Able to handle the physical requirements of the role.
  • Proficient in English language both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
What We Offer:
  • $34.43/hr, plus Superannuation, plus free parking.
  • Ongoing position.
