This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Catholic educator to take on a leadership position that aligns with the values of MACS' Vision for Engagement. As Deputy Principal – Engagement, you will work closely with the Principal and Leadership Team to foster an inclusive school culture that supports student connection, wellbeing, attendance, and motivation.

About the Role
  • Lead the implementation of MACS' Vision for Engagement across the school, embedding evidence-based practices that support student connection, motivation, wellbeing, and learning.
  • Coordinate a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to meet the needs of all learners, strengthening student voice and agency through initiatives like Student Commissioners.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and community services, guiding staff professional learning in inclusive, trauma-informed, and engaging pedagogy.
  • Use data to drive improvement in student attendance, wellbeing, and learning outcomes, making informed decisions to drive positive change.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement and motivation, aligned with the school's vision and goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to design and deliver high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and school policies.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education and leadership in a Catholic school context, with a strong understanding of inclusive education and MTSS.
  • Hold current VIT registration, academic qualifications in addition to initial teacher education (Master's degree or five-year equivalent), and recent and substantial experience within Catholic parish primary schools.
  • Be accredited to teach Religious Education in Catholic schools (unless exempt under MACS policy).
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
