Heavy Vehicle Fitting and Service Technician Job Description

As a Heavy Vehicle Fitting and Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing various duties to ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy vehicles.

  • Installation and pre-delivery inspection of new or used cranes and hook loaders in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

  • Fabrication and installation of subframes from design to development and manufacture, ensuring precision and quality workmanship.

  • Installation of new cranes to meet Palfinger standards, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.

  • Performance of routine service duties on new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders, including inspections and repairs as needed.

  • Preparation of annual inspection certificates to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a similar industry is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations and maintenance.

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fabrication Trade, or equivalent qualification is essential for this role.

  • Experience working on heavy vehicles is necessary, with knowledge of technical drawings and procedures.

  • Able to interpret and apply complex technical information, with strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
