About This Role:

As a Senior Manager, Technology Risk at the Commonwealth Bank, you will be responsible for providing specialist Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) advice, assurance, and acceptance/approval of decisions made across the Technology, COO, and Supplier Support Units. You will be a member of a team of technology risk professionals that provides Operational Risk & Compliance Support to the Technology and Security divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide SME risk management advice to crews aligned in Chief Technology Office and Chief Data and Analytics office, particularly those teams building the core foundations for AI technology.
  • Work as part of a team to provide independent, pragmatic, and value-adding Operational Risk advice and assurance for technology and cyber risks across the Group.
  • Monitor and report 3LoA activities to the Executive Manager, including BAU management of the Risk Management Approach, the Operational Risk Management Framework, and Compliance Management Framework in support of CPS 220.
  • Contribute to the oversight and monitoring of key data, technology, and cyber risks, controls, issues, incidents, and risk-in-change.
  • Support the identification, escalation, and reporting of related technology and cyber risk and compliance matters to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Detailed working and technical knowledge of AI and Gen AI systems, ideally familiar with solution architectures such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Experience in Risk Management and Risk Frameworks/3 lines of defence model, preferably in banking.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills, report writing, evidence gathering, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills with the ability to proactively engage Line 1 teams and engender trust with pragmatic, commercially balanced risk advice.
  • A curious and humble mindset, understanding of external trends and changes, interest in continuous learning, and a focus on building risk management best practice.
