The Team

Our expanding Financial Services and Funds team in Brisbane is part of our broader Corporate & Capital Markets group, led by a cadre of seasoned professionals. The team possesses extensive expertise across a diverse array of funds management and financial services issues, including compliance with AFSL, regulatory guidance, licensing, product development, disclosure obligations, design and distribution responsibilities, consumer protections under the ASIC Act, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing, privacy matters, and retail banking advice concerning consumer credit and APRA standards.

Your Role

In this role, you will engage in a diverse range of financial services, funds management, and retail credit matters for a prestigious client portfolio.

As a member of our close-knit team, you will collaborate closely with experienced senior legal professionals in the Financial Services sector, gaining invaluable mentorship throughout your journey. Our Brisbane team is intricately connected with our national financial services and funds practice, providing opportunities to work alongside partners and senior lawyers both locally and nationally.

More About You

  • 2 – 5 years of post-admission experience in financial services law, preferably within funds management or regulatory frameworks, acquired at a reputable commercial law firm, professional services firm, regulatory body, or in-house.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Exceptional technical drafting and analytical skills.
  • A genuine interest in exploring complex legal issues.
  • A proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A client-centric approach and a demonstrated capacity to build lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and industry contacts.
