Job Description

As a Database Solutions Architect, you will be working alongside our largest customers and partners, solving their complex issues. You will resolve questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between.

You will be an expert resource on standard methodologies in running MongoDB at scale. You will be an advocate for customers' and partners' needs, working with our product management and development teams on their behalf.

You will contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics. Externally, you will work with many of MongoDB's top ISV partners and ensure excellence for our joint customers.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Solving complex technical issues for our largest customers and partners
  • Providing expert guidance on MongoDB architecture, performance, recovery, and security
  • Working closely with our product management and development teams to advocate for customer needs
  • Contributing to internal projects, such as software development of support tools
  • Ensuring excellence for our joint customers with top ISV partners

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
  • Experience managing large scale databases (e.g. RDBMS or NoSQL)
  • Storage engineering experience, including NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching
  • Experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems
  • Ability to read and write code, and basic coding/scripting ability in one or more languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, etc
  • Experience working with APIs and other application integration technologies
  • Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalability
  • Ability to analyze issues holistically, from the application tier through the database, down to the storage
  • Genuine desire to help people
  • Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time
  • Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively amongst cross functional teams (partner, sales, support, customer success, etc)
  • Willingness and clarity of thoughts to be able to work in ambiguous multi-party situations where motivations and incentives are sometimes misaligned

Salary Range: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum depending on experience
