Culinary Professional

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our team in Ingham QLD, Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals, undertaking basic cooking duties, and maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a safe, clean, and tidy manner. They will work collaboratively with a supportive team who is passionate about providing high-quality, nutritious meals for residents with special dietary needs.

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and creativity;
• Clean and maintain kitchen area, equipment, appliances, utensils, and fixtures in accordance with standard cleaning and infection control processes;
• Undertake basic record keeping of key kitchen and stock data;
• Liaise with the supervisor and/or suppliers in relation to stock ordering and control;
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations;
• Contribute ideas for menu development and special events.

As a dedicated Cook, you will have comprehensive knowledge of legislation relevant to the industry and apply safe food hygiene practices effectively.

• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, food hygiene control, and cleaning chemicals used in a kitchen;
• Minimum one-year experience as a commercial cook working in a hygiene-controlled environment;
• Experience working within the Aged Care industry will be highly regarded;
• Solid understanding of food safety legislation, texture modification, and special needs diets.
