About This Role:

The Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Hepatology Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide a comprehensive service to assess, manage, educate and monitor patients with Hepatitis infection, advanced liver disease and other hepatology disease processes and their complications in the role of Hepatology Clinical Nurse Consultant.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires an individual who has strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert nursing advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing practice, as well as formulating and implementing policy, guiding practice development, and engaging in education and research activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing clinical supervision to nursing staff and acting as a role model, providing nursing care on a regular basis

Requirements for Success:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • A minimum of five years full-time post-graduate experience, including three years full-time equivalent in Hepatology
  • An approved post-graduate qualification or evidence of working towards a Master's-level qualification

Desirable Qualities:

  • Strong clinical skills and leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Environment:

The RNSH Hepatology Service is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires individuals to be adaptable and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

The service provides a clinical inpatient service for patients and telemedicine advice for referring medical practitioners and healthcare workers. It has developed an integrated framework with other stakeholders, including primary health networks, population health, and primary community health.
