About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HSEQ Professional to join our team at our Mole Creek lime processing plant and quarry in Tasmania, Australia.

Job Description

This key role will be responsible for working with site leadership, regional managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with Graymont's, regulatory, and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, environment, and quality management, with expertise in implementing and auditing quality management systems against ISO 9001.

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in WH&S and environment management or equivalent, with a high level of knowledge of relevant regulations and acts. They will also have experience in managing internal and external stakeholders, constructingively managing substantial change, and achieving results using a hands-on approach.

This is a full-time position that requires a valid driver's license and the ability to work autonomously. The successful candidate must also have the right to live and work in Australia.

Responsibilities
  • Drive improvements in way of working and safety culture with direct interaction with work teams on a daily basis.
  • Report and investigate safety and environment accidents/incidents & develop recommendations for prevention and reoccurrence using ICAM investigation methodology.
  • Run injury management, medical surveillance programs, return to work programs, and work cover investigations.
  • Maintain the Site Safety Management System to ensure compliance with State mining regulations and company procedures.
  • Conduct environmental sampling, review results, and report on site compliance to regulatory and environmental license conditions.
  • Accompany auditors and regulatory inspectors during on-site inspections with the Site Manager. Oversee any corrective actions arising from identified deficiencies.
  • Deliver training to employees including but not limited to sampling, testing, and knowledge of quality-related company procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate site rehabilitation activities.
  • Report and investigate customer complaints and conduct internal quality system audits.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in WH&S and environment management or equivalent.
  • High level of knowledge of relevant regulations and acts.
  • Experience in implementing and auditing quality management systems against ISO 9001.
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to constructively manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work autonomously.
  • The right to live and work in Australia.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $110,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
