Lead Flood Modeller

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Lead Flood Modeller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams through the development of hydrological and hydraulic models, authoring reports and other documentation, and representing their team or technical discipline at external meetings with clients or project stakeholders.

  • Manage and lead flood modelling on large scale infrastructure projects
  • Expand skills into other areas such as land development, precincts, and resilience focused projects
  • Work on flagship Melbourne infrastructure projects
  • Supportive management and collaborative team with strong professional development culture
  • Flexible work options including part time hours available and ability to be based in any state

The ideal candidate will have extensive post-graduate experience, most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. They will also have a proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines (Melbourne Water and VicRoads/Austroads standards).

**Requirements:**

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant skills
  • Extensive post-graduate experience in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines
  • Professional experience with TUFLOW (1D, 2D, combined 1D/2D)
  • Experience in GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS and/or ArcGIS
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
