Job Overview:

This critical role involves protecting Defence assets and infrastructure through proactive patrols, access control, and a strong on-site presence.

You will be operating in a complex and sensitive setting where professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness are essential.

  • Access Control: Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized personnel are permitted on site
  • Foot Patrols: Conduct regular patrols to maintain situational awareness and deter potential threats
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Build rapport with Defence personnel, contractors, and visitors while maintaining a strong security presence
  • Incident Response: React promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious behaviour
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure site protocols and Defence security procedures are followed at all times
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately record incidents, shift activities, and observations in line with site requirements
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Australian Citizenship (required for Defence security clearance eligibility)
  • Current QLD Security Licence
  • Negative Vetting 1 Defence Clearance or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with Defence personnel and stakeholders
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Strong integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
