The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Geologist to join our Exploration team based at Tropicana Gold Mine. As part of the team accountable to the Superintendent of Exploration and reporting directly to the Senior Exploration Geologist, this role is responsible for supporting exploration activities and completing assigned project work that furthers geological understanding and success in the near-mine and regional environments.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and work in a safe manner
  • Develop and maintain harmonious, productive working relationships with all contractors and colleagues
  • Independent supervision of drilling activities, ensuring a high level of safety, environmental compliance, and sample QAQC
  • On-ground contractor management and supervision of drill crews, downhole surveyors, and laboratory QAQC
  • High-quality geological logging of aircore, RC, and diamond core
  • Complete project work as assigned, including geological interpretation, 3D modeling, targeting, and drill hole planning
  • Assist in maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the exploration database
  • Provide mentoring and training to graduate geologists and field technicians
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Geologist with a strong enthusiasm for geology and discovery. To be considered, you should have:

  • A relevant tertiary or postgraduate degree in geology
  • Prior experience working as an exploration, resource development, or mine geologist
  • Excellent geological interpretation skills
  • Experience using GIS and 3D modeling software
  • Knowledge of QAQC practices
  • A current C-class manual driver's license, preferably with 4WD experience
  • Permanent work rights in Australia are mandatory
