About the Role:

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is seeking an experienced Investigative Reporter to join our team in South Australia.

This is a full-time position, offering a salary of $101K - $110K plus 15.4% nominated ABC super.

The successful candidate will have a wide network of contacts, trusted sources, research, data, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques to break news for local and national audiences across digital and broadcast platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating exclusive South Australian stories using a range of investigative techniques.
  • Breaking high-quality and high-impact original News stories of significant impact to South Australian and national audiences.
  • Writing concise and accurate copy and scripts, using creative storytelling techniques.
  • Identifying and managing editorial risks, working closely with News Leaders and ABC Legal to manage those accordingly.
  • Generating stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Investigative Reporter with a track record of breaking exclusive stories that have state-wide impact at the highest levels.

The successful candidate will have experience writing clear, concise copy and/or broadcast scripts, delivering complex issues in a way that both engages and informs audiences.
