Job Summary:
The Aboriginal Children and Family Services Lead will play a vital role in supporting and advocating for Aboriginal children and families. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
The successful candidate will have experience in overseeing harm investigations, interviewing involved parties, managing children on protection orders, and supporting staff in court-related work, including report preparation and testimony.

About the Role:
The Aboriginal Children and Family Services Lead will be responsible for leading complex casework involving trauma-affected children, using culturally safe and therapeutic approaches to support healing and building resilience.
The successful candidate will also guide and mentor staff in understanding child development, trauma, and attachment, especially in the context of Aboriginal children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex casework involving trauma-affected children
- Develop and implement culturally safe and therapeutic approaches to support healing and building resilience
- Guide and mentor staff in understanding child development, trauma, and attachment
- Oversee harm investigations, interviewing involved parties, and managing children on protection orders
- Support staff in court-related work, including report preparation and testimony
Requirements:
- Recognised Social Work degree or similar welfare or behavioural related degree
- Experience in casework and report preparation
- Ability to work with complex trauma affected children
- Strong leadership and advocacy skills
- Culturally safe and therapeutic approach
