About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planning Officer/Senior Planning Officer to join our Development & Planning Branch at Cairns Regional Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing development applications and enquiries, providing high-level specialist and technical advice to key stakeholders, and fostering a supportive and positive workplace culture and team environment.

The ideal candidate will have graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised university or other tertiary education institution, or equivalent, and demonstrated substantial planning and development experience in a Local Government or similar.

To be successful for this role, you will require:

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised university or other tertiary education institution, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated substantial planning and development experience in a Local Government or similar.
  • Current "C" Class Drivers Licence to attend offsite meetings and inspections.
