Job Description:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to join our in-house engineering team in Perth or Brisbane. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for technical civil design deliverables working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose engineering and design output complying with company requirements.

You will effectively lead the development of high levels of client satisfaction and Clough's business needs through the delivery of technically acceptable civil engineering design services.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with technical specialists to ensure specification compliance and technical integrity of design, preparing and reviewing civil engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications, MTO and scope of works), and contributing to the development, implementation and improvement of systems within the civil/structural discipline.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years relevant, post graduate civil engineering design experience
  • Extensive experience in Technical Design within engineering contracting or consultancy organisations in one or more of the following sectors – Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals and Infrastructure / Utilities
  • Capability in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation is highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of local and international Codes and Standards
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) is preferred
  • RPEQ (mandatory for applicants who would like to be based in Brisbane)
  • Membership of relevant Engineering Institutions (e.g. Engineers Australia) – preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
