Drive Sustainability Efforts

The University of Melbourne seeks an exceptional leader to spearhead the Australian Forest and Wood Innovations (AFWI) Centre for Climate-Smart Forestry. As Centre Manager, you will develop and implement strategic plans, manage complex partnerships, and drive innovative research initiatives addressing climate change.

This role offers a chance to contribute significantly to national sustainability efforts while collaborating with leading researchers and industry partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans, aligning with key objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with industry partners, research collaborators, and funding bodies to drive long-term sustainability and impact.
  • Manage the Centre's budget, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with University policies and external funding requirements.
  • Coordinate administrative functions, oversee project agreements, and lead reporting activities to support the Centre's research programs and industry engagement.

Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant management experience or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
  • Strong ability to provide strategic advice and support in operating the Centre.
  • Demonstrated substantial budget management experience, including complex budget development and financial modeling.
  • Established experience in maintaining administrative procedures and systems, including records management.
