Outdoor Education Specialist

We are seeking passionate and experienced outdoor education professionals to join our team in creating an unforgettable experience for students.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to inspire, explore, and make a difference in the lives of students. As an Outdoor Education Specialist, you will have the chance to do what you love in a setting that inspires creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.

  • Provide feedback on and oversee the delivery of the residential curriculum while maintaining detailed daily notes on the wellbeing and learning of students.
  • Contribute to initiatives and problem-solving by preparing materials, equipment, and resources and managing program logistics, including transportation arrangements, site preparation, and activity set-up.
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff and establish a culture of care for all facilities used and/or owned by the institution.
  • Facilitate outdoor activities, ensuring a safe and positive learning experience and ensuring adherence to safety protocols, while promoting teamwork and inclusivity.
  • Be committed to providing a safe physical and emotional environment where students are respected and treated with dignity in an appropriate professional and caring manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Outdoor and Environmental Education.
  • Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership (desirable).
  • Training and experience in the facilitation of various outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, team-building exercises, and nature exploration.
  • Previous experience working in an outdoor education or similar setting.
  • Level 2 First Aid (or Remote Area First Aid) and Anaphylaxis Management Certificate, Driver's License.
  • Current Employment Working with Children Check or relevant registration.
