Senior Mining Engineer Opportunity

YanCoal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mining Engineer to join our team in Blackwater, QLD. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our mine plan, ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of coal.

About the Role

  • Develop and maintain the mine plan, including short-term and long-term planning, to ensure optimal coal extraction and minimize costs.
  • Review and approve short-term dig and dump plans, ensuring they align with the mine plan and company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including mine management, operations teams, and external partners, to ensure seamless implementation of the mine plan.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual budget and 5-year plan, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching support to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

About You

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in technical roles within the mining industry, with a focus on operational planning and mine management.
  • Be proficient in mining software packages, including Vulcan, Deswik, and SPRY.
  • Possess strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Be passionate about your work, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
