
Advanced Practitioner

The Leading Teacher is a highly skilled and experienced educator who will play a key leadership role in the school. This individual will be responsible for implementing whole-school improvement initiatives, leading the development of curriculum planning and delivery, and managing staff performance and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student learning outcomes.
- Lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and priorities.
- Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school, working collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Develop and implement professional development programs for teaching staff within the priorities of the school.
- Manage staff performance and development, providing coaching and mentoring support to ensure that all staff are meeting their full potential.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and its application in the classroom.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities, including the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
- Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Requirements:
- Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
