As a Support Worker and Cleaner, you will assist a participant in maintaining his independence and enhancing his quality of life. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide practical support, companionship, and empowerment to someone who values their independence and cherishes their home.

The participant lives independently in a single-story home with his beloved dog, Zip. He mobilises primarily with the assistance of a walking stick and occasionally uses a wheelie walker when needed. His mobility is affected by a right foot amputation and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Despite these challenges, he is determined to live life on his terms and is looking for someone who can provide the support he needs while respecting his independence and lifestyle.

As a Support Worker, your primary focus will be to assist the participant in various tasks such as accompanying him during shopping trips, helping put groceries away, supporting with light meal preparation, assisting with gardening activities, providing companionship and emotional support, and helping with pet care. Your duties may also include encouraging and promoting the participant's independence in all daily activities.

The Cleaner will perform general house cleaning duties, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces. The successful candidate will ensure the home is tidy, safe, and comfortable for the participant.

We are seeking individuals who possess a kind, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with the participant are essential. Experience working with individuals with mobility challenges or disabilities is preferred but not essential.
