Policy Analyst Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Policy Analyst to join our team in the ACT Government.

As a Policy Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of policy and/or financial issues, developing and managing budgets, advising on policy and financial matters, working with agencies on financial reporting issues, and contributing to the production of the ACT Government's financial statements.

This is an exciting opportunity to see the inside workings of government and contribute to the development of key policy priorities. You will gain central agency experience, including understanding how strategic policy priorities are developed and implemented, as well as sophisticated knowledge of the machinery of government, budget processes, and government decision-making and policy implementation.

Additionally, you will develop effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills, and have access to diverse career advancement pathways.

To be successful in this role, you will require tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in business, accounting, commerce, economics, finance or a similar field. The successful candidate will also be placed in a merit pool that can be used to fill other vacancies within the organisation. These positions are based in a workplace designed for activity-based working.
