• Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage resources, equipment, and materials for all science practical lessons (Years 7–12).

  • Support teachers and students during practical classes, including demonstrations and experimental design.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair scientific equipment; ensure accurate records are kept.

  • Trial and validate new experiments; recommend safe alternatives where necessary.

  • Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in line with WHS standards.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures for laboratory activities.

    ">

  • Manage stock control, purchasing, and inventory systems for science resources.

    ">

  • Use software tools such as RiskAssess and ChemWatch for scheduling and chemical management.

    ">

  • Care for live specimens and plants, including reporting requirements for flora and fauna.

    ">

  • Promote and model a safe, organised, and collaborative laboratory environment.
