About the Role

  • Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing, identify disease-causing agents, and contribute to patient diagnosis.
  • Conduct routine procedures from specimen reception to result execution, including specimen dissection and analysis.
  • Assist with stock management, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with protocols.
  • Maintain equipment, adhere to operating protocols, and stay up-to-date with scientific advancements.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, contribute to continuous improvement, and assist in developing new assays.
  • Train colleagues, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and adhere to policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in medical laboratory science.
  • Sound knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to identify and implement quality improvements, work independently, and exhibit a strong commitment to excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
