Job Title: Child Protection Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Child Protection Advocate. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting relationships between children and their parents, particularly during high-conflict and stressful situations. They will facilitate safe and meaningful interactions between children and the parent they do not live with, following court orders or parenting agreements.

The role involves attending contact visits, supervising interactions, and preparing detailed reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to manage difficult behaviors and defuse escalating situations.

About The Role:
  1. Attend contact visits and supervise interactions between children and their parents/family members.
  2. Prepare detailed reports of interactions for each visit.
  3. Communicate professionally and empathetically with parents.
Requirements:
  • Possessing strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in defusing escalating situations and managing difficult behaviours.
  • Equipped with a current Working with Children Check, police check, and First Aid certificate.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, with an understanding of child development, mandatory reporting, child protection, and family/domestic violence laws.
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and effectively engage with children, young people, and their parents or caregivers.
  • In possession of an insured and reliable car, with a current driver's license and good driving record.
  • Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including weekends.
