Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Power Generation Expert to join our team at Fyfe Pty Ltd.

About the Role:

Fyfe Energy and Resources Group works with major Australian clients to deliver specialist oil and gas, mining, hydrogen and power generation projects across the country. These include upstream flowlines, gas transmission pipelines, processing facilities, conventional and renewable power generation facilities, as well as maintenance and construction related work programs.

The Opportunity:

As a Lead Power Generation Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in concept and detailed design, grid connection process including power systems modelling, construction and commissioning support, and NEM compliance to drive innovative solutions for our clients. You will lead the development of technical design input for grid connections, substation design, and generator connection (including gas, wind, solar, and other renewable sources).

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the engagement with key clients across Australia and the development of opportunities
  • Provide technical design input for grid connections, substation design, and generator connection (including gas, wind, solar, and other renewable sources)
  • Manage the development of specific project-related design deliverables i.e. single line diagrams, P&IDs, protection studies, earthing reports, harmonics assessments, load flows etc;
  • Review of detailed design documents prepared by subcontractors and equipment suppliers for completeness and compliance to Australian Standards;
  • Partake in various aspects of project delivery, construction and commissioning management;
  • If required, provide site-based support for projects across Australia (certain amount of travel may be required);

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
  • Demonstrated experience in the power generation, both conventional and renewable energy industry in Australia.
  • Strong understanding of the general arrangement and design of generator connections.
  • Sound understanding of Australian industry codes and standards in particular the National Electricity Rules (NER);
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
