This Library and Museum Assistant role will facilitate the planning, support, and delivery of an efficient library and museum service to the community.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Providing effective frontline customer services that meet user needs
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, presentation of library materials, and general appearance of the Library and Museum
- Addressing public enquiries and resolving matters raised or referring to relevant officers as applicable
- Circulation duties, including user registrations, loans, returns, and shelving of library and museum materials
- Accurately processing payments and researching for users of the library and museum service
- Basic technology troubleshooting and exercising authority while acting in the best interests of the organization, its customers, and the community
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills to deliver exceptional customer service
- Previous experience working in a Library or similar customer service environment
- Sound research and written communication skills
- Proven organizational and administrative skills, preferably within a Library or Museum environment
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and autonomously, under minimal supervision
