Job Overview

A Senior Consultant is required to join our organization in the Process and Controls division, focusing on internal audit and assurance services within the government & public sector.

This role involves more than audits and controls; it's about being part of a team ensuring that government departments and agencies operate at their best.

Your work will help enhance the services government delivers to citizens, safeguard public funds, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide insights leading to better governance and service delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal audit projects, ensuring timely completion, scope adherence, and high-quality standards.
  • Work closely with clients to understand needs and develop tailored internal audit strategies addressing risk management and process controls.
  • Apply project management skills to oversee successful execution of audit plans from initiation to completion.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years' experience in project delivery, preferably in internal audit or risk management, or within the public sector.
  • Familiarity with risk and control principles, a track record of managing audit or risk-related projects with diligence and precision, or a willingness to learn.
  • Australian citizenship and ability to work in Canberra, willing to hold or upgrade to an NV1 clearance.

Ideal candidates possess excellent communication, inter-personal, and organizational skills, with capacity to influence project teams towards successful delivery. Tertiary qualifications, progress towards professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA), and experience with digital audit tools are also desirable.
