Acute Surgical Unit Registrar

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Acute Surgical Registrar to join our acute surgical unit team. In this role, you will play a key part in the timely assessment and management of patients presenting to the emergency department or referred from other hospitals and general practitioners with acute surgical conditions.
You will work closely with the surgical team, including SET trainees, surgical fellows, and general surgery consultants, to ensure swift and effective patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assess new referrals in the emergency department and wards, contributing to crucial decision-making in surgical treatment plans.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may also provide ongoing management of emergency surgical patients on the wards and assist in theatre when needed. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced surgical environment, develop your clinical skills, and work within a supportive and collaborative team.
About YouWe are looking for a dedicated Acute Surgical Registrar who meets the following key requirements:
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with General Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience: Relevant medical experience in an Acute Surgical Unit and a track record of collaborative problem solving in clinical settings.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of quality improvement principles, contemporary health issues, and the rights and responsibilities of patients and families.
