Drakes Supermarkets is a leading independent grocery retailer in Australia, offering an exceptional shopping experience to its customers.
We are currently seeking a motivated and hardworking leader to join our Samford store in North Brisbane as a Meat Department Leader.
This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of approximately $60,000 per annum, plus superannuation, and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced retail environment.
About This OpportunityAs a Meat Department Leader, you will be responsible for managing a small team, creating rosters, generating orders, completing stock takes, and ensuring the efficient operation of the meat department.
You will report directly to the Store Manager and work closely with other departments to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a small team of butchers and sales staff
- Create and manage rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Generate orders for meat and related products
- Complete regular stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy
- Monitor and control costs to optimize profitability
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- An Australian trade qualification in Butchery (essential)
- Fresh food retail knowledge and experience (desired)
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Ability to order and control costs
- A flair for merchandising and visual display
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to liaise with team members and management
