Senior Auditor

The Senior Auditor will work in a small team within the Financial Audit Branch, responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting on independent audits. The role involves undertaking and reporting on financial compliance audits and reviews of internal controls in the public sector, providing on-the-job training and support for less experienced audit staff, and utilizing professional skills and knowledge to assist with audit planning processes.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and report on financial compliance audits and reviews of internal controls in the public sector.
- Provide on-the-job training and support for less experienced audit staff.
- Utilize professional skills and knowledge to assist with audit planning processes.
- Assist with the conduct of extended reviews of issues of importance and interest in the public sector, to promote the best use of public sector resources.
- Completed a Bachelor level degree in accounting or commerce (majoring in accounting), recognized in Australia under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
- The completed degree must meet the requirements for entry into the professional accounting program offered by CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (through their accredited tertiary degree entry pathways).
- Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency status at the time of applying.
