Horticultural Cultivator

The Horticultural Cultivator is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the cultivation and production of crops.

This role requires hands-on expertise as well as leadership skills to manage farm operations and coordinate with colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate and maintain optimal crop growth through careful planning and execution.
  • Monitor and address any issues affecting plant health, soil conditions, irrigation, and pest control.
  • Maintain horticultural equipment and irrigation systems in good working order.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhanced crop performance.
  • Supervise and train staff members as needed to achieve team goals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in commercial horticulture or crop farming.
  • Sound knowledge of crop protection, nutrition, irrigation, and soil management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications in Horticulture or Agriculture is desirable but not essential.
  • Current driver's license.
