Job Overview

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on the role of Engineering Operations Manager. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the smooth running of our fleet maintenance.

  • Support the Engineering Manager in workload planning and resource allocation to optimize garage performance.
  • Supervise and assist the engineering team in maintaining safe, timely, and efficient maintenance, servicing, repairs, and cleaning of the fleet.
  • Maintain accurate work documentation and oversee proper sign-off procedures.
Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management
  • Monitor and assist in reducing vehicle breakdowns and lost mileage by focusing on preventative maintenance and performance improvement.
Health & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure staff compliance with health & safety standards, environmental policies, and statutory regulations.
  • Actively monitor safe working practices, including those of contractors and visitors.
People Management
  • Assist in all aspects of people management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, absence management, and employee relations.
  • Support the development of team members through training, coaching, and identifying skills gaps.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Uphold high-quality engineering standards by promoting individual and team accountability.
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives throughout the depot.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the engineering industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
