A highly respected and experienced individual is sought to lead our Clinical Operations Directorate as Chief Operating Officer.

This pivotal role requires a strong emphasis on systems thinking, service improvement, healthcare reform, and financial stewardship. The successful applicant will guide the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care across a broad portfolio of acute, sub-acute, ambulatory, and community services.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical services including inpatient and ambulatory care, care at home, specialist outpatient clinics, and infection prevention and control.
  • Foster a high-performance culture centred on patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen service integration, workforce planning, and system-wide alignment to strategic priorities.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainable and responsive healthcare delivery.
  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing leadership team across three operational directorates.

The ideal candidate will possess executive-level leadership experience in a hospital or large health service environment, a sound understanding of clinical governance, performance management, and contemporary healthcare reform, proven capability in leading large multidisciplinary teams and managing substantial resources, highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a strong values-driven approach to leadership.
