Database Administrator Role

Superloop is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database environments to ensure our business applications run smoothly, securely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and setup physical databases to meet business requirements
  • Ensure optimal index and partition strategies for enhanced performance
  • Plan and execute database version upgrades and patching with minimal downtime
  • Monitor database environments to pre-emptively identify potential issues and initiate corrective measures
  • Use performance monitoring tools to analyze and optimize queries and indexing
  • Conduct regular capacity analysis and forecasting to manage growth and resource requirements effectively
  • Ensure accurate and timely synchronization of data between source systems and target databases or SaaS platforms

Requirements

  • Skilled Database Administrator with extensive experience in MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and a proven track record of managing highly available database environments
  • Experience with time series database technologies
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, with experience in database hosting environments
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and experience in physical database design
  • Proficiency in DBMS tools and utilities for database upgrade, maintenance, and performance tuning
  • Solid understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, security, monitoring, and cost management principles
  • Experience in managing production databases, ensuring their availability and reliability
  • Procedures for online updates and maintenance, with minimal or no downtime
  • Experience with user account management, access controls, backups, and recovery procedures
  • Expertise in data integration, ETL development, and synchronization processes
