About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Ventia, a leading joint venture delivering services under Sydney Water's Partnering for Success program.

This key role is based at North Head, Manly and will be responsible for the procurement of projects across one of Sydney Water's largest assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement packages are prepared and delivered in accordance with Ventia and Sydney Water's Shared Purchasing tendering policy and subcontract management.

About You

  • Proven experience in a procurement role within a large organization.
  • Strong background in tender and contract management, with experience using Ariba.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with industry partners.
  • Highly developed Microsoft office skills, with experience using SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and select appropriate solutions from competing results.

About the Role

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to Sydney Water, internal project managers, subcontractors/suppliers, and ensure the Shared Purchasing Function thrives.
  • Effectively plan, programme, and manage the preparation of subcontractors and procurement contracts for the Northwest Growth Area Portfolio of work.
  • Negotiate with industry to provide economies of scale when negotiating contracts.
  • Determine the appropriate contract type to use for all engagements.
  • Proactively bring new contractors to Sydney Water for inclusion in the Shared Purchasing Framework.
  • Support management in the decision-making process and the implementation of decisions.
