About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our Community Supports Services team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to clients with disabilities, promoting skill development and independence.
  • Engage clients in activities that promote socialization, skill-building, and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide in-home support for clients, which may require working afternoon and night shifts.
Requirements
  • Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
  • Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Full COVID vaccination status
  • Experience with high-needs Disability clients
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable)
  • Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) - desirable
