We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to spearhead our Obstetrics and Gynaecology services. As Head of Unit, Gynaecology Obstetrics, you will be responsible for guiding a high-performing team and shaping the future of our O&G services.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients and contribute to the growth and development of Western Health. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary environment across six campuses in Melbourne's west.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Excellence: Ensure that all clinical care is delivered in line with best practice guidelines and Western Health's clinical governance frameworks.
  • Strategic Planning & Operations: Develop and implement operational plans that align with the strategic goals of Western Health, including managing budgets, meeting KPIs, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with neonatal and paediatric teams to ensure integrated care for high-risk patients.

About You:
We are looking for a leader with significant clinical and managerial experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ideally in a complex tertiary hospital setting. You should be able to demonstrate strong leadership, particularly in high-volume environments, and have a track record of driving performance improvement, building cohesive teams, and ensuring clinical excellence. Required skills and qualifications include Specialist registration in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with AHPRA (or equivalent), proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams, and a strong understanding of clinical governance, accreditation, and quality improvement processes.

A Competitive Remuneration Package
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including a salary of $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits and professional development opportunities.
