Job Description:

You can be either an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Nurse or a Developmental Educator working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about understanding the reasons behind challenging behaviors and helping people to break down barriers to reveal their true abilities and live a life with less restrictions.

This role involves delivering best-practice, person-centered support to people who use challenging behaviors. You will build long-term relationships with people and their support networks as you help them create a vision for a life without restrictions and with positive interactions, activities, and experiences.

Working with people of all ages and achieving outcomes for greater quality of life and less restriction. You will complete our industry-leading PBS training program and ongoing development program.

Our team meets regularly to celebrate successes, unpack challenges, and learn from each other's experiences. We prioritize learning development and the wellbeing of our practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all PBS practices and interventions comply with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Use research evidence and professional reasoning when recommending therapy strategies.
  • Identify and develop efficient processes within the delivery of PBS services.
  • Develop effective working alliances with people and their families.
  • Enhance the capacity of people to make their own life choices and increase their independence.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be AHPRA registered as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, hold a Bachelor's Degree qualification in Social Work and full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; and Developmental Educators will hold a Current Membership of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC).

Please note that you must have a strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
