We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team on the Children's Ward at San Day Surgery Hornsby. As a Casual Paediatric Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients, while also offering support to their families and caregivers.

Our ideal candidate will have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and previous experience in a paediatric setting. You will demonstrate a high level of empathy and emotional intelligence, connecting with patients and families in meaningful, supportive ways.

You will be an exceptional communicator, both verbally and in writing, confidently interacting with patients, their families, and your colleagues to ensure clear and compassionate communication.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments, which may include professional references, functional questionnaire, national police check, working with children check, and vaccination evidence.

Job Description

As a Casual Registered Nurse on the Children's Ward, you will be responsible for providing expert care to our young patients who have undergone various procedures, such as tonsil and adenoid surgeries, grommet insertions, hernia repairs, as well as those recovering from medical illnesses and surgeries.

You will provide comfort and reassurance to children and their families through challenging moments with a gentle and skilled approach. The role requires you to demonstrate sound clinical skills and knowledge, along with strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a paediatric setting
