About the Team:

The merchandising team plays a critical role in understanding customer needs by working closely with various business units, including supermarkets, liquor, and express.

About the Role:

In this newly formed position, you will contribute to cost management and support business compliance by collaborating with senior leaders across our merchandise business units.

As a Cost Analyst, you will provide essential commercial insights and drive compliance across business areas. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting product cost modeling and commodity-based opportunities or risks.
  • Providing key commodity insights to inform budget development and category planning opportunities.
  • Developing, managing, and enhancing reports to facilitate business compliance.

About You and Your Skills:

This role requires research capabilities, analytical skills, and experience in sourcing data and partnering with internal and external stakeholders. An analytical or engineering background, combined with experience in retail or manufacturing industries, is ideal for this role.

Your skills should include:

  • Experience with process improvement in a retail or consulting environment.
  • Strong communication skills to manage and influence a broad set of stakeholders.
  • A commercial understanding of retail and supply chain is advantageous.
  • Effective problem-solving and presentation skills to senior stakeholders.
  • Commodity trading, procurement, and supplier management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with IT systems, Power BI.
