Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Android native Kotlin technologies and be able to work within a Scrum team environment.
  • Responsibilities will include coding, analyzing, designing, and supporting existing mobile applications and feature teams.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving process and system improvements, particularly in native Android Kotlin development.
  • In addition, they will collaborate with team members, providing mentorship, training, and occasionally leading development activities.
  • They will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist with feature estimations and technical analysis.
  • Participation in Scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives will be required.
  • The role will also involve conducting system analysis, solution design, and producing high-quality documentation and realistic work estimates.
  • Technical designs must align with architectural principles.
  • Coding tasks will be performed aligned with design specifications, using judgment to adapt where necessary.
  • Manual and automated testing will be executed, ensuring audit compliance and unit test coverage.
  • Maintaining quality standards as defined by the Quality Assurance team will be essential.
  • Staying updated with industry best practices in mobile and Android Kotlin development will also be required.
  • Fulfilling additional responsibilities as directed by the Mobile Tech Lead/Manager or as reasonably requested will be necessary.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline is required.
  • Minimum experience in a similar role is necessary.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Android native Kotlin technologies is required.
  • Other experience with mobile development using languages such as Java, Swift, Objective-C or .Net Xamarin is highly regarded.
  • REST Services and Azure knowledge and experience is highly regarded.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • A willingness to go the "extra mile" to achieve the business outcome is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences are necessary.
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment is essential.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment is required.
