Job Title

Principal Adviser: A Strategic Leadership Role

The position of Principal Adviser is a high-profile role within the Economic Policy, Programs and Services Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert strategic advice and exceptional project management to enable high performance of the group in achieving its objectives of sustainable economic development and employment growth for Victoria.

\Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Developing policy frameworks within area of expertise or responsibility based on defined organisational priorities
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Routinely advising senior stakeholders on policy issues and solutions within a functional area
  • Culture and Process Alignment: Using knowledge of structures, processes and culture of government, the sector and the department to develop policies and new program or project initiatives
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Policy Design and Development: Builds trusting relationships with Senior Leaders across the VPS to engender support for proposals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Build a culture of collaboration across the organisation; Looks for and facilitates opportunities to collaborate with external stakeholders; Identifies and overcomes barriers to communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic Planning: Guides others through the strategic planning process, creating a shared vision for the future.
