Financial Manager Position:

This is a challenging and rewarding role within the department, where you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial functions and framework that underpin the financial operations.

About the Role:

  • Manage treasury and banking functions, including cash management, investment, and borrowing activities;
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure effective financial management;
  • Provide financial guidance to senior managers and other stakeholders;
  • Prepare and present financial reports to internal and external audiences;
  • Manage budgets and resources to achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance, such as a degree in Accounting or a related field;
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a government agency or large organization;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be based in Canberra, ACT, and will work within the Financial Operations Branch (FOB) of the Finance Division. The FOB enables efficient management of the day-to-day financial functions and framework that underpin the financial operations of the department.

Selection Process:

The selection process will involve shortlisting, interview, and assessment panel. The department reserves the right to select the most suitable candidate from the merit list or pool created from this process.
