This role plays a key part in our efforts to support Victorian Aboriginal communities and promote cultural safety and responsiveness throughout our organisation.

About the Role:

The Team Leader North West will be responsible for the delivery of regional governance and coordination of Dhelk Dja Regional Coordinators and Action Groups located in the North and West divisions.

You will provide support to strengthen and elevate the Dhelk Dja Action Groups, ensuring they operate effectively under a strengthened regional governance structure.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Provide line management responsibilities to the North West Dhelk Dja Regional Coordinators.
  • Support Dhelk Dja Action Groups and Regional Coordinators in achieving the vision, objectives and key tasks outlined in the Dhelk Dja 10 Year Agreement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in working with Victorian Aboriginal communities and promoting cultural safety and responsiveness.
  • A proven track record of managing teams and achieving outcomes in a busy policy and program environment.
