Job Title: Court Reporter and News Journalist
Nine Entertainment is seeking an experienced court reporter and general news journalist to join its dynamic and fast-paced newsroom in Darwin, Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source, research, and produce compelling daily stories for both local and national bulletins, focusing on court cases, crime reports, and justice-related issues.
- Deliver comprehensive and accurate accounts of legal proceedings, ensuring clarity and fairness for viewers.
- Work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Engage audiences by presenting court stories in an informative, compelling manner, adapting content for both television and digital platforms.
- Monitor social media, legal bulletins, and local news outlets for breaking news and potential court-related stories.
- Provide fresh and innovative ideas for storytelling across television and online formats, especially on legal matters.
- Build and maintain a strong network of legal contacts, including court officials, law enforcement, and legal professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in Journalism
- Court and crime reporting with strong journalistic instincts is highly desirable
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent.
- Excellent writing skills, on-air presence, and ability to produce stories tailored for TV news.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court reporting procedures.
- Adaptability and agility in a rapidly evolving news environment.
- Highly organised and proactive, with strong time-management skills.
- Ability to remain composed and detail-oriented, even in high-stakes or emotionally charged situations.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes opportunities for career growth, professional development, and a dynamic work environment.
